A scholarly British wardrobe. Formal and informal; stonewash denim, open waistbands and blazer stripes. A narrow silhouette: sharp shoulders, tall collars and deep cuffs. A visit to Galleria Doria Pamphilj, Rome, as a teenager. Antique gold, papal purple and cardinal red. Reflecting the opulence of the surroundings and Diego Velazquez’ Pope Innocent X (c. 1650)1. The T-Bar: chain-suspended, finishing suiting, shoes and bags. A signature motif. Inspired by the Victorian pocket watch. The tension between classicism and subversion that defines the house.
